About:Pass on the more trendy restaurants and step right into La Barca, a local favorite. It offers separate restaurant and bar, both of which have a festive atmosphere. It is a popular spot during happy hour, filled with locals in search of an after-work drink who enjoy the occasional live music. The decor is charming with tiled floor, red-tinted balconies and wrought iron accents. The staff is friendly and courteous. The menu consists of traditional Mexican favorites like burritos, tostadas, tacos, enchiladas, nachos, fajitas and the like. Its margaritas were voted best in The City by Focus magazine.

    Good Mexican food. Simple and not expensive. Good Tequila selection. Not as extensive as Tommy's, but good for the average person. Great for large groups. Not the best, but a perfect choice for good food with lots of space for groups.

    Fun atmosphere, a classic SF bar: La Barca is a fun bar with great people. They have an excellent restaurant, also. Cinqo do Mayo is a wonderful event, but please get there early, it crowds quickly!
