Not as good as the ratings it received at all. We first went to Brothers I and there was a long wait, so walked down to this one. We were seated within minutes at the "cook your own" table. We are huge Korean BBQ fans, so we ordered our usual Kalbi and the Soon Tofu soup. The side dishes were brought out, which were actually okay. But the Kalbi was soaked in the marinade which took away from the meat itself, and the marinade was very watery. The service was poor too. The waitress laid a couple of pieces down on the grill for us and did not really cut the meat up as most other Korean restaurants do. And it took forever to get the water my husband requested, we finally had to ask the manager to get it for us. The soup was also bad. It was not spicy and it did not have the rich red color like most other Korean restaurants have. Also the place was very smoky, which generally the BBQ restaurants are, but not this bad. Our overall experience was poor, we've tried other Korean BBQ restaurants that were far better than this. If you really want great Kalbi, soup, hot tea, and service, you should definitely try out Seoul Garden in the Japanese district. Now, this place was AWESOME!

Dive-y, which is good: The food is good, and it's a great communal experience to cook your food at the table. The service is OK and the decor is early 1983, but that's part of the charm.

A perfect replica: Although the original Brother's Korean Restaurant is always brimming with people and can host a wait of up to an hour on the weekend, Brothers II, just down the street, will always be half as crowded.

The food is just as exceptional as the original, and much of the staff switch between the two. Now that I know these facts, I pretty much rely on Brothers II to get my kalbi fix!
