The hospital is run by 4 women vets. All of them are great with our dog. It's easy to get appointments--even on short notice.

They get extra points for having a very affordable pet health insurance plan. It's only about $125-150/year. you get a discount on office visits, procedures, and med. Vaccinations are free (and that alone makes the plan save for itself).

Having gone through a couple of rather serious ailments with our dog, we've made good use of their services. Definitely high quality care!

I have been taking my boys to Marina Pet Hospital for over 19 years now. The staff and doctors are just the best in the city! The amazing thing is that the kids don't freak out going there!

Dr. Kim is one of the most caring vets our two kitties have ever met; she will spend half an hour on the phone with you interpreting your "baby's" blood work (from the lab) and it's obvious that she loves all animals as if they were members of her own family....she is a true animal lover and takes her time, going into great detail, about how you can keep your animals healthy with preventive care; and if there is already a health issue, she will spend extra time with you, giving all options that are in their best interest; she's their best advocate....i wish HUMAN doctors were this enthusiastic and devoted to helping their patients, ha ha...

the front desk staff is cool and always helpful; yeah, sometimes they seem a bit cranky, but that's because i've witnessed them being verbally abused by elitist or rude clients, who expect everyone to kiss their "you know whats"....if you treat them with respect, you will get respect right back...

i've heard nice things about the other vets there too, but dr. kim is a gem and you'll probably never find such a kind and charismatic doctor, of any sort, again....she's truly one of a kind...she even got both of our boys to lose weight on their prescription high protein wet food -- and when she saw they were losing weight, she was as happy as if she'd won a lottery or something -- she really really CARES!!

p.s. this review is waaaay overdue; we've been going to MPH since 2005.
