| About: | The sleek dining room done in Asian ultra-modern is a setting designed not to distract diners from the delicious fusion of East and West to be found here. The ingredients, from the shops in Chinatown, couldn't be fresher and the day's menu is often planned by the couple, Angela and Larry Tse, who run this place around what they find there. The braised catfish is always a treat. The place is usually packed with a mix of locals and tourists who get the royal treatment from the well-trained wait staff. |

Service is excellent, very nice atmosphere. Price is fair. The food is absolutely fantastic, some of the best in town!
Can you tell I like this restaurant? It's one of my favorite haunts.
Here is my problem with the place:
As we waited for a table we noticed the table near the door had these delicious looking appetizers. After we sat down our waitress (who was not friendly at all) STRIKE ONE asked us what we'd like to order for an appetizer. We said we'd like to order the scallops that the table near the door had ordered. She looked straight at us and said, "Oh, those aren't available for you to order, just them." STRIKE TWO. Literally, those were her exact words. Then they brought out the appetizers and it was obvious that our tuna tartar was minuscule to the table next to ours. I usually don't complain about stuff like that unless its obvious. After we mentioned that to our waitress she gave us a blank face and did not say anything. I would at least want her to take accountability and take the appetizer back and add to it. But nothing. STRIKE THREE.
Keep in mind there were four of us, so a tip at a place like that is easily $40 or more dollars. Our food came out and yes, it was good. But if you want to have a better dining experience, go elsewhere. A little hint for the owner, train your waitresses and buss boys on politeness and friendliness, it will get you much further, at least with someone like me, and I know I am one of many. But maybe you don't want your restaurant to get that big, you might run out of tuna tartar. The long and the short of it is that you'll go either way. Research even shows that people are more attracted to places that don't deliver.
