My family and I went to see Santana and the concert was awesome. Except that all the pot smoke made my wife's asthma flare up and my son got a contact high. That was OK with the security *ick standing near us, but we couldn't use the stairs closest to us to get to the concessions and bathroom because we weren't sitting in the correct section. They can control where you walk, but not enforce the huge no smoking signs posted all over. We will avoid this venue in the future.

This is the first time i've gone to the Pavilion and I wasn't impressed. It's easy to get to and we went to GateA for parking general parking. There's 3 lanes and no signs so we get up to the guy and he's like you're in the wrong lane, you need to go out and come back around and get in back of the line, this lane is for employees only. So we drove ahead some and when we got to the start of the line i guess the head guy was there adn he just told us to sit tight, the gates were about to open anyway so that was cool but how about some signs if you're going to have reserved lanes ?! think that would be a good idea ?!?!?! Next Concord is one of the hottest places in the bay area. 104 was the temp when we went there. There are lots of vendors around for food, drink and other cool treats and even some picnic areas, and being 'upstaris' in the concession/vendor area is the coolest place you'll find. Once you go down into 'the pit' where the seats are, it's way way hotter. There's a sun shield i guess shading a good portion of the seating but when that places is full i think it just traps the overheated body -heat. Plus it's dug down into the ground/hill so there is no breeze through there at all unlike the breeze you get up in the lawn seats. So sitting there was extremly uncomfortable due to the way the theater is designed to trap and hold heat. So i doubt we'll return the the Sleep Train Pavilion in the summer months again. Then after the show it took 90 minutes to get out of the parking lot ! Traffic direction was an epic failure. Cars were going every which direction but no one was getting out to the exit roads, it was just twisting disorganized lines everywhere. A total and complete traffic management failure. So the lesson learned is don't pay 20 bucsk for 'vip' parking because getting out it puts you at the very very back of the pack. And don't get there early either for the same reason, you ideally want to be among the last to get into the parking lot so you can get the heck out in an acceptable amount of time. Leaving the show a minute before the end would also increase your chances of getting out of there without a 90 minute wait. So overall i was happy with the show which has little to do with the venue and was also happy with the vendors but everything else was an epic failure.

Chronicle Pavilion Day OF the 3 Doors Down Concert: Well if ya like overly Loud Music and expensive but tasteless food then GO by all means... Ever Wonder why they also call it a Ampitheather?... well lets see it amplifies the music gee.. so the level of music ya woudl need else where ya dont need in ampitheathers... my ear drums were in terrible shape for at least a week and a half after the show... Not that No Address, Breaking Benjamin , Staind and 3 Doors Down diddnt rock cause they did.. But it was overly Loud.. Allow me to say that I couldnt even hear my self Screaming I LOVE 3 DOORS DOWN!!!!! But on the other Hand i diddnt mind that and i am sure the neighbors next to me diddnt either! So Band memebers I besheech you to get a sound test done and be in the audience and have ur ears drums ruined permantly so that you wont do this to us again.. perhaps its not you, well fine then Chronicle Pavillion its all up to you.
