This is one of the only places that i had to pay to taste (most places refund you money if you buy a bottle of wine) but it was well worth it!! You start out by taking a gondola up the mountain and then do a self guided tour with wine tastings along the way and then to the "tasting room" where there are breath taking views as you try some beautiful wine. I am a fan of the sweet wines so they didn't make me try the wines on the standard list they adjusted it to my taste!!! So worth the $20.00
Great tram ride, but too short!: I know it can only be so long, but it would had been better had the tram ride been 10 min or so cuz the view it beautiful and relaxing. Funny, I have seen reviewers call it a gondala, trolly, and a cable car! HUH?!
The tour was ok. Not much to look at factory wise. Funny they actually charge people to look at some of that stuff! The Napa views were great of course and the wine tasting was very nice. The tour ends at the wine shop where you sit and taste the last 3 wines and then you can go buy wine and wine paraphernalia if you so desire. There's a yummy chocolate sauce Cabernet! Not woo winey and just chocolaty enough!
Fabulous: A first-time experience for my girlfriend and me, and it was fabulous. I strongly suggest the private tour for your first experience as well. Our guide was very knowledgeable, the group was small, and the tour ended with style and class. The tram used to take you up to the winery was down for a month which was the only downside; however, the bus trip up provided a pleasant, professional, and humorous history lesson from the driver. You'll be back for more once you experience this winery and the view from the top of the hill. I became and member after my first visit and look forward to sharing this experience with my family and friends.
