The night we went here there was a live band. The location is good, and the people seemed nice, but the door was charging a cover. I'm the type who is willing to pay a cover to get into the hottest night clubs and dance clubs in Las Vegas, and maybe in San Francisco is the place is cool (in which case, they usually let women in for free), but I would never pay a cover to get into a small bar like Choices.
I guess this place is fine for locals who haven't been to a real bar or nightclub before, but for the rest, I would save your money and go elsewhere.Comments (1)

Miss N, I'm sorry you're disappointed in Choices, especially since your unhappiness is with the $5 cover charge. I've learned that the cover charge is taken in to pay the bands that perform for us. This system has been in place for a long time and works well. The patrons, the local bands, and the owner (Donna) make Choices the best choice. Try us again, it's fun.
User Rating: 4 out of 5 starsChoices is a great local night club, although a larger dance floor would be nice. It's location is on first street, just a short stroll from the Marina, and very good eating establishments along First St.
I lived in Benicia for over twenty years. My wife and I have danced at Choices quite frequently until moving away four years ago. Now our visits to choices are less frequent but; they continue to have great entertainment, the bartenders and wait persons are great, and the patrons are friendly!

Rough crowd. Fights and knifings.
I have not found that to be the case.
Eric W must be on crack! Choices is a safe, friendly place. The last knife fight was at a place 6 blocks away...and it was caused by young out-of-towners. This person must have an ax to grind!
I agree with WineGuy, Eric must be on crack. Choices just celebrated it's 20th anniversary and to date the crowd at Choices is fantastic. There are local bands every Friday and Saturday nights so go DANCE! Keep an eye out for the face-lift.....
