This was my first and last time at the Nantucket.
A few days later after eating there I look at my bank statement and seen that the waitress had added an extra $10.00 on our debit card. After we had left her a $10.00 cash tip. This is credit card fraud.
I called to speak with the manager told her what had happened I felt like she did not believe me that she could have handled this better she was not very managerment like.
I read the reviews after talking with her and seen on the Yelp reviews that this has happend before. To bad I did not read this before I went to the Nantucket.
The Bookkeeper called me after my husband had to go down to the Restaurant to say that is not his writting the Manager wanted him to verify this.
The Bookkeeper was more understanding and knows this is fraud. Said that this waitress has been there for years and could lose her job if I report this or she could just refund me the 10.00.
We did not want to be responsible for someone losing their job over 10.00 even if it is fraud so we took the refund as an error. Hopfully they will keep an eye on this waitress. The watress should be thankful for the Bookkeeper being understanding and speaking to my husband and I a lot better then the Manager did.
This has never happend to us before next time we will not be so trusting as to leave the tip part blank. Will for now on write in "cash" for tip and write in the total amount. This was not very smart on our part.
So this bad experience will never bring us back to the Nantucket.
This restaurant was not friendly the food was not bad but was overpriced, the bathroom not very clean.
Went here on 2-6-09 & the staff/food was awesome!
All I can say about the previous bad reviews is this,
Pissy customers=pissy service.
If you want snobby shee-shee go to Marin County.
If you want a perfect steak & lobster served by hometown hard working folks, go to the Nan.
This was my 3rd/4th visit there & it has always been consistently friendly & yummy for me & our families!
On the night of November 28th 2008 my girl friend and I decided to visit the Restaurant because we used to really enjoy the experience there. The first thing was the coffee was very old. It should have been tossed a long time ago. My dish came out hot but not so for my girl friend. The sauce for the dish was hot but the vegetables were almost cold. Her sauce also resembled dishwater. The staff did a very good job of getting things for us so the fault lies entirely with the kitchen. We also noticed that to much of the menu was taken up with deep fried items. Did this place not read anything in the last 10 years?

I had a bad experience at Nantuckett a couple of years ago and was going to give them another shot to redeem themself. However, it seems things haven't changed so I will take my service elsewhere!
