The food is not very good, the service is horrible, the Management is fifth class. Although the menue is larger than most, the portions are smaller than many Japanese Resturants. Ray's down the street is by far a better place to eat. I have been eating there for over 10 years.
I believe the food is amazing and I always come back for their salmon sashimi. From all the places I've had sashimi, this place is the best. Although, their service is very lousy. Whenever I ask for something, it usually takes the waitresses a while for them to get it. I had to ask twice on several occasions for the check.
Also, once I ordered 7 piece salmon sashimi but instead she gave me 10 piece of assorted sashimi and the waitress insisted she was correct. She went to get me the correct order and didn't even apologize.
I used to go to this restaurant two or three times a week with my boyfriend. We really liked that it was close to home and the prices seemed cheap enough. I never got sick from the food, and the waitstaff seemed nice enough. That all stopped after I was double-charged for a meal a few years ago.
I discovered the mistake when I was balancing my checkbook. I noticed that I had been charged for the price of the meal, and then charged again for the price of the meal plus tip. I figured that they had made a mistake, so I took a printout of my account and my receipt to the manager and asked for assistance. He said that he would need to talk to the accountant and asked if I could come back in a couple days. He didn't apologize for the mixup and he didn't take my contact info either.
I went back a few days later as requested. He asked me to come back a few days later, again (and again, and again). After 3 weeks of going back and forth, I reported the problem to my bank. The bank reversed the charge.
I refuse to set foot in that restaurant again. As far as I'm concerned, they are thieves, and I will not support their business.
