We took our Dodge Avenger in on October 24 because it was not functioning normally. It was stalling when first started in the morning and making noises. AFter being driven for a while, it was fine. But we thought we would check out the stalling. The Stevenson Tire people said it was the spark plugs, etc. and we gave them $450.00 to fix it. We drove the car home, but the next day noticed that the problem was still there. We took it back and they took the car apart and examined it for three days after which THE CAR WAS NOT DRIVING AT ALL. In other words, when we drove it there, the car was working, and when they were done with it, it was not. We had to have it towed. They refused us any kind of compensation. We had to have it towed to another shop and start from scratch. Except that this time the car wasn't running at all.
For those of you looking for "STEVENSON TIRE", they are now located at 4343 Peralta Boulevard (at the corner of Dusterberry and Peralta) in between the DMV and the Post Office. Their phone # is (510) 796-9900.
Despite what you are told when you call or go in to SKIPS TIRE (their old Fremont Blvd locations), STEVENSON TIRE has NOT gone out of business, they have RELOCATED to a new facility.
Their website is www.stevensontire.com
These guys are so honest. I left my car there for wheel alignment. Couple hours later they called back and said that the alignment was checked and was till OK. They only charged me $31 for inspection fee.
