i have been to shalimar, sfo downtown. the place looks like irani hotels in hyderabad. no cleanness and kitchen looks to be dirtiest of all. food is good ( dont try nan ... its gets hard in few minutes ..) .. rest room is next to kitchen. i decided never to vist again .. for me health is more important than food .... :) ..

WOW! This place blew us away! What a different experience, no check in podium, no waitress, kind of chaotic. Once we figured out how to get a table-just wait nearby and then swoop in. We didn't have a clue on how to order-there was a line in front of the register. After a couple a minutes we got some water and this big news print menu. The waiter kind of explained the menu and said he would be back. He could tell we were novices and needed some hand holding. He took pity on us and had the food brought to the table. Fresh Naan, Lamb Curry, Palak Paneer are the Bomb. We also had the Goat & Chicken Birayni both were also excellent. Great food! Wonderful experience.The flavors are out of this world. 5 Star Highly recommended- be patient. 2/07/2009
