We happily jumped on he CARS/Chrylser rebate bandwagon and purchased from Autowest Dodge. (We went there because the Dublin dealership was scary.) WARNING: pay attention during the contract signing at Autowest! Don't let the joy of a new vehicle lower your bs detector! Things we didn't want were added to our contract, adding to the price. Mumblespeak was used as the explanation: we were given numerous explanations, none of which were clear, and then were scoffed at for questioning anything. Don't let these guys flumox you - they will try anything to up their advantage. These guys are a fine example of what gives car dealerships their bad name.
Chrysler should really revoke their License to deal cars! Then again it would take some time for the other shoe to drop - avoid at all costs. Go to the Dublin store they are way better in service, people skills, service and etc.
AVOID THIS DEALERSHIP! They are a bait and switch operation. Maybe if they have the car on the lot but donât fall for having them bring it from a different lot. After several weeks of looking around and deciding on a Dodge Caravan I call my local dealer â Fremont AutoWest Dodge. I told the sales person the 3 things the car must have is the 4.0L engine, navigation and Swivel nâGo seats. After a few calls back and forth they tell me they found the car with all that I asked for, with the 28m package, the entertainment group 2 and interior group 1 with the Sirrus TV. I agree to come in that day to buy it and had my sister drop me off. I arrive there and ask for the âbuild sheetâ so I can see what the car options are. The sales person says âWhatâs a build sheet?â When I tell him that several other dealers have been able to give me this he says they didnât have it there but it has everything I wanted. So I start the sales paperwork and the sales persons heads off to the other dealer to pick up the car- which I am told will take 2 hours. As I am dealing with the finance person I tell him âYou know that all I have to go by is what the salesperson told me. I havenât seen any list of options the car has. Can I get a list of the items?â He tells me that I havenât taken delivery of the car so I can always cancel. As I wait the 2 hours I start to ask where the car is and I am told another 15-20 minutes. I again ask for a list of the options the car has â Iâm told when the car gets there they can do that. 30 minutes past, I ask again and am told another 15-20 minutes. Another hour passes before the car shows up â so now I have been here 3 ½ hours, Iâm tired, I have to get the kids to bed and Iâm ready to go. Iâm told they need to fill the car with gas and wash it. This takes another 45 minutes. It is now 8:30 at night, I havenât had any dinner, my mom wants to know when Iâm going to pick up the kids and Iâm tired. By the time the car is ready Iâm so ready to go I just jump in the car and go. When I get to my momâs to put the kids in the car I see that the seats arenât right- they are the Stow nâGo instead of the Swivel nâGo. I immediately call the salesman- who is already home and he tells to me to wait to return the car till next day because the dealership is closing. I tell him I am 5 minuets away and call them to stay open. When I get to the dealership there are still customers inside â they arenât closing. When I tell them how upset I am about the mistake and all my time wasted they tell me that they will find me the right car tomorrow but if I want this car they will take $1500 off. I reject this offer- the seats are important to me. The next day no one calls. I leave 2 messages with the Internet sales manager â still no call back. I finally ask to speak to ANY sales person who after some back and forth calls finds a car almost like (wrong color but with a sunroof) but has the options the first car had but is $2000 more because the options I was told were in the first car cost more and that the car didnât have the things I was told. They then tell me they canât find any car that is like the car because the â2008 are becoming scarceâ. I am able to find 3 cars online within 40 miles that have all the options I was told the first car had. So luckily I was able to find the car I wanted at a good price somewhere else. I had to drive a little but at least that dealership was honestâ¦.
