Every once in awhile I get a powerful craving for prahok, that stinky fermented fish paste affectionately known to Khmers as "fish cheese". Well, recently I had just such a jones, and we stopped in to sample the fare. I had prahok with ground pork and chilis (normally only on the dinner menu, but they will make it at lunch if requested), served with parboiled vegetables for dipping, and it was heavenly. I thought for a minute I was back in the Kingdom, only thing missing was chicken bones on the floor, Khmer Karaoke on the video, and cold Angkor Beer. Texture could have been just a bit thicker, perhaps more prahok in the mix, but it certainly hit the spot. My wife had prawns and vegetable deluxe with green curry, very tasty as well. Next time we will tuck into some samlor mee chou trei, noodles, and of course amok trei!-- can't wait...
I love this place..YUMMY!: We've been eating here since 1992 and the food gets better and better. We've taken all our friends here and they keep coming back. I highly recommend the bbq chicken, orange noodles with prawn, eggplant with ground pork and shrimp, fried shrimp and the deep fried bananas with coconut ice cream. It may be difficult to find parking or sometimes you have to wait for a table.
I promise it's worth the wait.
Love this place!!!: They make the best bbq chicken and bbq beef.
