great place to meet friends and while away an evening
User Rating: 3 out of 5 starsLoud, Dank and Average: Based on the number of people who frequent Cato's, you would think that this would be a great place. No really. The pizza was extremely ordinary and the ceasar salad felt like it was mixed that morning based on the sogginess of the lettuce. The place appears to get by based on its coolness factor, and beer selection, rather than the food served.
User Rating: 3 out of 5 starsDark Dirty Pub with Average Food but good Beer: Compared to the sister pub Ben and Nicks over on College Avenue in Rockridge nieghborhood, this place has been disappointing. The seats are all sticky and uncomfortable, and the rooms dark and not well laid out. The food is too sandwich-oriented with minimal salad/healthier alternatives. I've been here many times over the last 10 years and never really enjoyed the ambiance, compared to Ben and Nicks.
