Gordo Taqueria

Hi, im mexican and have lived in albany before, I have been going to this place for over ten years.
This is the best burrito in town and better than any one in berkeley too.
chipotle is owned by mcdonalds.
simplicity is perfect for a taquieria, its the quality that counts.
gringos arent used to that..

Oh man I can't believe someone compared this place to Chipotle. Reviewing Gordos - you're doing it wrong.

This place is the best burrito in town, easy. And the service is fine if you avoid acting like an idiot. You just have to know your order and not be spaced out/talking on your cellphone/crazy when you walk up to the counter. There is a long line, so the burrito-makers are in a hurry. If you just order your food, its all good.

Also, if English is your first language, you don't have to order in Spanish. You aren't fluent just because you went to Mexico for spring break 20 years ago, and we don't want to stand in line waiting as you try to remember how to say "boiled chicken" in Spanish.

Good, quick and clean food preparation!

They prepare the food in front of you so you can watch what they do with your food. Plus they have a separate person as the cashier. No back and forth with preparing the food then touching the money. That always disgusts me when taqueria's do that.
