Their mission is to bring audiences the best drama in the most intimate atmosphere, valuing the community's diversity and emphasizing the intellectual element in stage entertainment. This actor-driven company has recently moved to a larger 150-seat theater, retaining intimacy while expanding their artistic options their guests' comfort. Occasionally they also host special evenings and readings. Featured playwrights have included G.B. Shaw, Tenessee Williams, Harold Pinter, David Mamet, Henrik Ibsen, as well as amazing yet lesser known writers. User Rating: 4 out of 5 starsGood, inexpensive theatre: When I lived in Berkeley, I used to frequent this theater. Not only do they feature all kinds of theater from contemporary to traditional to ethnic (Maxine Hong Kingston was featured as a "storyteller"), but you can get Pay As You Go tickets for some of the opening shows. A great deal for those who want to watch quality theater for inexpensive prices!
