| About: | With the scalloped awning outside and the folksy newsletter from the owner in each menu, you are on a trip to rural America circa 1940 at this folksy coffee shop. Under the newsletter, the menu includes items such as short stacks of fluffy pancakes and a surprisingly succulent turkey dinner with all the trimmings. You will not go wrong with either of those or any of the other down-home choices, but whatever you decide on, save room for the main attraction. That would be the freshly baked pies that line one wall. They are filled with seasonal fruit, always fresh, never canned, as well as custardy banana cream and sinfully rich chocolate milk. |

Nice and quiet. If you get there early enough on the weekends there is plenty of room and extremely fast service. Pancakes and eggs are great; love there special jam too. I'm a regular on the weekends and will continue to be for many years to come.
Walker's: Excellent Place for Comfort Breakfasts: Walker's Restaurant is reminiscent of an original 50s diner. The food is simple and quite comforting. I went there recently for breakfast and had a large stack of pancakes (the stack is supposed to be 4 pancakes, but I ended up with only 3 large ones) and an order of hash browns. My breakfast companions also had pancakes and eggs benedict. The pancake portions were so large that we were unable to finish them. The coffee was very good...fresh tasting with a wonderful aroma. Since we dined on the weekday, there were only three other tables occupied in the restaurant. If I were not so stuffed, I would have ordered a pie as a take away.
Nice old fashion meal, but don't skip the pie: If you want a hearty old fashion meal out of the fifties menu, this is this place to do. Even though we were stuffed we begged for pie and were glad we did. This place definitely has regulars.
