Nick's Cafe is like a small town diner in the middle of the husle and busle of the business district in Oakland. You walk in and the staff will get to know your name and remember it for next time when you back. I love the burger and fries and the chicken pesto.

Customer Service will bring you back: In a world full of rush here, hurry there, scurry about and get it done yesterday; it's still nice to find old fashioned values and good customer service. Nick's Plaza Cafe offers a mix of Greek, American and Italian cuisine in an indoor cafe setting.

Try their delicious homemade lasagna or their tantalizing Greek salad. For those of us who work in downtown Oakland near lake Merritt perhaps a quick sandwich on the go is more your speed. Whatever, you choose from the breakfast or lunch menus you will not be disappointed in the quality of the food or the customer service. Even during a rush the counter staff remains friendly, upbeat and for the repeat customers which entails a minimum of 2 visits they will usually remember how you have your sandwhiches.

So if you're down by Lake Merritt and you'd like to experience good customer service at a "lunch bar" stop on in and visit Nick's Plaza Cafe. This family owned establishment is worth the visit.
