An excellent little cafe: This is a hidden gem on Northside. Actually, not totally hidden -- people in the know, know Nefeli, but otherwise you could walk right by it, which is a shame. The coffee is really excellent, and if you're not getting to go, they trust you with decorated Illy porcelain cups, not dime a dozen mugs. The people behind the counter seem consistently friendly and will actually strike up a conversation, instead of yelling "Next in line!" over your shoulder. The music they play (never too loud) is funky and varied, and more often than not elicits questions from the patrons, "What CD is this?" (I've done it myself). The food is also excellent, although the portions are on the small side. Quality, not quantity. Great place to go and study by yourself, or have a conversation with friends where you don't want to have to yell to make your voice heard over the bedlam. No wireless Internet, but if you're with UCB, you can get an AirBears signal.
