I've been a vegetarian for over 10 years. I've tried every veg place in the bay area that I can find.
Through my experience, there is not a more reasonable, more tasty, clean, and friendly place. This place is great for a working person on lunch. You can easily be in and out (on a work day) during lunch hour in 20 minutes and be stuffed.
I took a non-veg friend there, and he really could not tell that it wasn't chicken untill I clued him in days later.
My fav is the ginger fish.
Best veg resturant around!!!
I love going to a restaurant and not having to make sure it is vegetarian meal. Many items on the menu. This was my first time there and all items were good. Next time I will get the regular Chow Mien instead of the crispy. Food is seved promptly and prices are reasonable. I'll be back!
Hecca Good: A health-conscious friend introduced this restaurant to me several years ago. It's affordable, 100% Vegan-Vegetarian food. Some of my favorite dishes are Non-Fried Spring Rolls ($5) and Lemon "Chicken" with brown or white rice on the side. Also popular are their curry dishes, vegetable-tofu over rice, among other choices. In terms of ambiance, that depends on your definition. It's in downtown Oakland, so it's got urban appeal, which I love. It's family-friendly and the motto on their menu is "With respect for all life, we proudly serve all dishes free of meat, poultry, fish, egg and MSG." In a west coast phrase, it's "hecca good!"
