User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsThe decor looks like a TGI Fridays that got hit by "The Old Man and the Sea"... but that's besides the point. Also besides the point is the occasional understaffed-ness in the middle of the week. You do not want to show up after 9:00, the place starts filling up with douchebags. However, these guys get 5 stars for being the only bar in the tri-city area that actually knows how to make DRINKS. You won't believe it. They mix drinks, right there in front of you, and they taste GOOD. They don't take their clothes off, or play trendy music, or have a dancefloor.Just good drinks. It's amazing.
User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsI love Thallasa: The bar is named Thallasa which was the primeval spirit of the sea, so of course it will have an ocean theme. Besides the theme, the bartenders are amasing. The drinks are a little expensive but this is not a dive, it's a nice pool hall and drinks are still cheaper then many places in San Francisco. Music is never so loud that you can't talk to the group that you came with. Thallasa's main draw is the 21 pool tables that are regularly maintained and actaully re-felted when needed. It can be overwhelming busy on a Friday or Saturday, but they have atleast five bartenders to be able to keep up with demand. This bar is awesome and so is it's great friendly staff.
User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsGreat place for pool!: Ok, so the ocean decor isn't for everyone, and the main room often has the music blaring too loud... but it has a huge wherehouse room filled with pool tables as well as a quarter pool table out back for those not into paying by the hour. Over all a great place to play pool!
