I've been eating at King Tsin Restaurant for years, and think it's the best Chinese restaurant in the area. The food is always fresh, the sauces are flavorful without being too salty, and they offer a wide variety of different dishes. They even serve brown rice. I have never had a bad meal in the restaurant or for take out. The service is excellent. I don't know the family who runs King Tsin, except from seeing them at the restuarant, but they seem very nice. I can't say enough about this place.
If you've recently burned your taste buds and lost the ability to tell the difference between decent food and horrible food, you may enjoy dining at this restaurant. We were there for dimsum, thinking that it would be a good idea to try out other restaurants in the bay area, in case we found something closer to where we live. The service was not too bad, though the biggest reason for me to come back and visit any restaurant is the quality and taste of the food itself. I can deal with so so service, but I do not compromise on the food. The dimsum were all overcooked and chewy, and I do not doubt that they were purchased frozen and then steamed before serving. When you order dimsum and the color of the shrimp comes out brown, this is an indication that they skimped on fresh ingredients. If I wanted frozen foods, I'd stay at home and open up a package of frozen dimsum from Costco. We did not finish our food but had to buy something else to eat afterwards because we were still hungry. With so many good Chinese restaurants out there, why would anyone want to go to King Tsin? We have decided that good food is worth the distance and will not be coming back to King Tsin. It has been permanently removed from our list of potential restaurants.
Along with excellent food is a terrific jazz group that plays on Thursday evenings. Jazzmine has been playing for over two years from 6:30 to 9:00pm.
It is a great place for kids and if you feel like dancing you can do that too.
