    Attractive: It's real Japanes Sushi I have ever had in the US.
    Hiro's special is the best.

    Best in San Rafael?: Been twice and have enjoyed it both times. If you're in San Rafael, this could be the best local place to eat sushi.

    As other reviews state, the staff, including the sushi chefs, is indeed extremely friendly. Service is prompt, attentive, and unobtrusive.

    I've had the nigiri and a specialty roll (Hiro's specialties). Both were quite good, but I was especially surprised with the specialty roll - it wasn't just an average roll.

    The prices are reasonable and value is good.

    The Best Sushi Bar in San Rafael?: While the food at Akira is high quality, the friendly staff makes this the place to be. Fish is very fresh and although you won't find anything revolutionary on the menu, the selection is good and well prepared. A favorite for lunch because of their lunch menu which is perfectly sized and well priced. Staff is very friendly and attentive.
