This was a beautiful hotel 15 years ago but it has not been updated. We have been staying there every year for the last 15 years but we are looking for a new location on our next visit. The hotel has so much potential and the location is serene. However, it seriously needs to be updated. On a positive note....the breakfast is a real treat. David, the morning cook does his best to provide you with an enjoyable breakfast but restaurant is not clean with dust hanging from the awnings. The booths need to be cleaned and/or reupholstered. The floors and walls are dirty. What a shame. It WAS so beautiful. The open elevator shaft if ridden with trash. I do love the koi pond and waterfall. I would definitely check with the hotel to see if it has been remodeled before booking a room as the photos provided on-line are deceiving. Embassy Suites...Marin County....Rest in peace.
