India Palace Restaurant Business Overview

Company Information: There are many places in the Bay Area with this name, but not all are this good or this fancy. Here, there is plush pink brocade and gilded touches everywhere, plus food that is pretty ritzy in and of itself. Locals and day-trippers find succulent tandooris of chicken, seafood, lamb or vegetables, a lengthy selection of Indian breads, and curries for every taste and spiciness tolerance level. The service is gracious and efficient without feeling hurried. The wine list has a nice selection of California vintages with a good bottle starting at $10.

Hours of Operation: Mon-Thu 11:30am-9:30pm, Fri-Sat 11:30am-10pm, Sun 11:30am-9:30pm

The Best in the area....: Not quite sure what the other user was thinking. This is consistently some of the best Indian food in Marin. It may be in an odd location, but you will always have a good meal as evidenced by its popularity.

    I highly recommend it.

Bland: I didn't think it was possible for Indian food to be bland. That may seem like a generalization, but I'm just going off of my experience. A woman I know raved about this place, so my partner and I finally decided to check it out. The food was bland and boring, and heavy on the grease. We ordered channa masala and aloo gobi, and both were disappointed. Even the naan was burned. Since we went, we have joked about how some people seem to love this place; in the meantime we have found several other north and south Indian places in the Bay area that we frequent.
