User Rating: 2 out of 5 starsAight, check this out. I'm from So Cal. Born 20 Miles from the Mexicali Border and Raised 100 Miles from it. I am going there for dinner tonight, I will be sure to report my opinion... Believe me, I know good AUTHENTIC mexican food when I taste it... Peace

Okay so I have to say, I am very dissapointed with the food there. I really wanted to like it reading these reviews and all before I went! The salsa was very yummy for sure but everything else was not good at all. The rice was hard and had no flavor. The Chile Relleno I ordered was COLD. Like not warm but COLD. Oh yeah and one thing I really judge mexican restaraunts by is their chips. This place had bagged chips. Like they were not home made fresh. They have boxes stacked in the corner. Talk about STALE! Okay, that's that. And please don't say I don't know about Mexican, I've had as Authentic as it gets.-

Maria Elena's is the best place ever you can eat all you people are dumb saying its ansty you just dont know what good food taste's like my mom and my aunt own this rest. and its bomb!!!!everybody should try it!!!!

I had a bad experience in Maria Elena's Restaurant. I ordered the special of the day which was fish tacos.I got a frozen fish sticks cold from the freezer. I asked the waitress was is this? she answered what do you expected! I said grill fish tacos.
She took my plate and went and warmed my fish tacos in the microwave. She brought the plate back to me with an actitud. I just told her I'm not going to eat this, she ignored me and walked away. It is a shamed that this Mexican restaurant is serving frozen food and not are Mexican Tradicional dishes as supposed to.

Will you let people have their own opinions. Of course your opinion is going to be bias...your family owns it. I agree the salsa is really good, but my food has also come out cold and the person who took our order over the phone hung up on us and was very rude. We didn't even get what we ordered.
I am about to have lunch at this restaurant with my company... After reading all the negative feedback about the frozen food and awful customer services, I am definitely not going there for sure. I will convince my team not going there! Thanks for all geat feedback. This is the freedom of speak that we, american are all proud of!!
