June 24, 2009, went with a large family group. Waitress was quite friendly and attentive. Salad was good, but when the main course arrived (my husband and I split the meal) we had to put on our reading glasses to find the filet minon! We ordered the surf&turf meal which was to be a petit filet and 2 crab cakes. My piece of filet was about two bites!
We both spent the night in the bathroom (sick)!!! Assuming crab cakes were not fresh....by the way, was there any crab in the crabcakes?
Cafe Sparrow: I had brunch at the Sparrow on Mother's Day, and it was very good, as usual. I really think it's one of the best places for breakfast in the greater Santa Cruz area.
Pros: good food, good service, nice breakfast atmosphere
Cons: a bit pricey for breakfast
We are local and it's our favorite resturant: You can't beat Cafe Sparrow for excellant service and an original dinner menu with outstanding specials each day. Owners Bob and Julie have it down pat for making their original success a dinning event that we look forward to.

We drive up to the Sparrow on a regular basis on the weekends from Carmel just to savor the corned beef in the Reuben Sandwich. Housemade corn beef. The best.
