We recently visited this restaurant with my parents from Germany and we had an excellent time at Cafe Rio.
We have been there a couple times before and my husband usually orders their 1/2 lb Angus cheeseburger. My mom did the same and both were very happy with their choice. The presentation, the amount of food and the flavor all were great. My father and I ordered the fish tacos. Really good, and my father is somewhat of a fish expert since he lives right on the coast in Germany. My 2 yr old daughter enjoyed french fries, some of the burger and a nice bowl of strawberries, specially made for her.
The staff was really friendly and attentive and we felt very welcome there, even with my toddler.
I recommend you stop in for a good meal. The location right by the beach is perfect.
The menu provides classic seafood dishes but also has variety in their specials and lunch/brunch menus. I loved the friendly service, very professional. The best was of course, the FOOD! MMM. Salmon for me, filet for my husband, can I go back tonight?? :) I recommend it to those visiting a 30mile radius to Aptos!
We were taking a leisurely Sunday morning stroll on the beach and decided to stop into have some brunch at Cafe Rio. It was a gorgeous day and so we sat outside to enjoy the ocean view. We were seated quickly and were able to order within minutes of our arrival, even though a huge party seemed to be arriving at the same time as we did. I ordered the eggs benedict and my wife ordered the spinach/portabella mushroom omelet. Let me tell you that I don't think I have ever had a better eggs benedict in my 49 years. The eggs were perfect, the sauce rich and creamy and it had perfectly ripened tomatoes. My wife loved her omelet as well and said she had to finish it even though it was huge and she was full, because it was so good. We are making Cafe Rio a Sunday morning tradition from now on!
