The view is beautiful. If I could have eaten the view I would have left a happy customer. The rest of my experience with this travesty of an eating establishment was less than beautiful. I ordered the filet mignon ($33) and asked for it to be cooked medium to medium well. 45 minutes later I received a raw piece of meat with grill marks on it. The baked potato should have been called a microwaved potato..it was rubbery and cold. I left my plate full and, when the waitress decided to come to my table, she didn't even notice that I asked for the check with a full plate in front of me. I swear that she might have suffered from traumatic brain injury or some other mental disorder...every time we asked her a question she would stare for approximately 3 seconds and then answer a question we didn't even ask.
Overall - it was a horrible dining experience. I suggest they gut the place and build an Outback in its place. At least they have general idea of how to cook a steak. Also, Outback could probably keep the bamboo tiki chairs that this place forces their customers to sit in.
Made for fleecing tourists. This restaurant is proof of the old rule that the better the view, the wosrse the food and service.
My wife and I read about this place online and after looking at the menu decided to give it a try while visiting sunny San Francisco. Once we arrived, we realized that there should have been a sign on the front door that required an AARP card to enter. We were easily the youngest guests in there by about 30 years or so.
The food was relatively good. We ordered the crab cakes as an appetizer and got a whopping 2 for $12. Then we moved on to salads and they were good as well. Once our main course arrived, my wife's order for grilled scallops was not right, so they had to put in another order for the correct meal.
Our waitress was friendly, but man she was slow. We asked her for extra ice in our drinks twice and finally my wife went to the bar to ask for a glass. My wife also had to ask for extra salad dressing twice. The waitress was kind enough to offer a free dessert for our wait and trouble and it was nice.
The entire experience took a little over two hours and made our first stop in San Francisco one for the ages....(literally)
