User Rating: 1 out of 5 stars"Avoid, Avoid, there is always a fight going on there, its not a good place to hang out. Do yourself a favor and ignore this place, the bartenders are extremely rude and appear to be PMS'ing all day long, drinks are watered/soft_drink downed, the interior needs a good scrub, the have set the clock back 15 minutes and more or less kick people out at 1.30 claiming its due to the law. I used to go there but the service have deteriorated to a all-time-low so it is truly a place to avoid unless you like are into BDSM and like to be bossed around for no good reason.
There are lots of cool places in Marin, this is NOT one of them, and I've been to every bar in the county.
you should also know that Twin Cities cops are cruising so if you are interested in keeping your DL, go somewhere else. The service is appalling except for Rebel (one of the bartenders) he's gets it and is cool, people like him should own and run the place and fire the rest of the useless gang."-

This is my personal Gold Standard for "dive" bars. But since this is Marin that sort of negates the term "dive". It is clean enough and has a great atmosphere, fine for unaccompanied women but certainly not a pick-up spot.
Funky, authentic and fun the Peso is well worth finding. Lots of Marin rock and roll history in this little place. -

Apparently. if your not a local, a regular barfly or white it very hard to get a drink here. I guess being Mexican/Irish didn't help me much. Three times I mad eye contact with the bar tender only to be ignored until the pretty well to do white women and her husband sitting next to me, that I conversed with, got the attention of the white bartender and he reluntantly poured me a pitiful glass of ale. Oh he was so kind. People of the dark and swarthy complexion are advised to avoid this white bred throw back of a tavern unless you enjoy the taste of a beer served stale and unwelcome.
