My experience at Manresa was one of the best I have had. I love to try new things and found everything interesting and divine. The wine pairings were wonderful and enhanced every dish. My fiance proposed to me that night and they did a wonderful job at making it absolutely beautiful. I do have to say that it is not a sit-down family restaurant. I have taken my child from birth on (she's ten now) to fine restaurants and never had a problem because she has always been quiet. That's just the type of child she is. I would be very unhappy to be spending hundreds of dollars for exquisite fare only to hear children crying or fussing excessively. I can sleep through crying babies on airplanes...it doesn't even phase me...but that is to be expected in that environment.
The food here is fantastic, but you will be expected to pay for that food. You can also expect the meal to take a long time, there is no rushed food service here. The chef tends to be somewhat experimental with the menu therefore don't expect to find 8oz sirloins with mashed potatoes. I loved my meal here, but my wife did not. She found a great deal of items that she couldn't bring herself to try. I get the feeling that other people might have a similar issue. For those that like to try something new, this place is perfect!
One word..."awesome"! Consistently excellent service and exquisite food creations. Expect to spend big $$$ but it's an experience...not just dining out.
