Liked the actual vets here very much. However, I waited over an hour just for basic shots for my dog, and that was a morning appointment. Also, I could not believe how much it was just for standard annual shots and checkup, over $250 for a 15 minute appointment.
I am going back to Banfield Pet Hospital, where I can sign up for an insurance plan. They were a little sloppy in the last year I was there, but the service was OK. I can't afford Kirkwood!
My dog had a hemotoma in his ear and Dr Ueno said he needed surgery to repair it. When I picked him up he has a drain in his ear and I was supposed to bring him back in 2 weeks so they could remove it. After 2 weeks it was still draining so I brought him back the following week to have it removed. I told them it was still draining but they decided to remove it anyway. Within a week, the hole started to close and the hemotoma which never left came back. Now Dr. Ueno wants $144 to replace the drain which he should have never removed in the first place. The bill includes an $18 stay, $50 for local anesthesia, $50 for the new drain and misc charges + antibiotics. Not only is my dog being traumatized for a 2nd time so is my credit card. I will be looking for another vet.
After an awful experience with Adobe Animal Hospital, I researched local vets, and Kirkwood was recommended. I have been with them for 2+ years now, and I love them! The vets are extremely nice and knowledgeable, and the receptionists and techs are great!
Even though they are extremely busy, they are very pleasant to deal with and helpful. Most importantly, they really care about my pets, and treat them lovingly.
