Bad experience!
After a nice ride on Chardonnay boat, our group of friends decided to have a drink and appetizers at Crow's Nest. Me and my husband live not too far away from the restaurant and have been going there for the last 5 years. All went well until we were about to leave the place. We were standing on the first floor waiting for all our friends and one of the managers, tall, thin older guy with gray hair asked us to get out of the restaurant because we were making too much noise. We were shocked and didn't expect such a " great customer service", he tried to push me with his hand out of the door right after that, he then started talking to the security guy who turned out to be a nice and very polite guy. Anyway, tall, thin old guy, I am writing a complaint about you because you DESERVE IT, I don't know who even hired you to be a manager at such a nice place like that, they did a big mistake, no HUGE mistake! Your place is in the kitchen washing the dishes, you rude old guy!
SUMMARY:
The Crow's Nest Restaurant is one of the better places to eat in Santa Cruz. Our family had a great experience there and we'll probably come back.
PROS:
- Nice atmosphere
- Polite staff
- Good food
NEUTRAL:
- Food took a little while to arrive -- to be fair though, we were dining on new years eve so they were busy.
- Prices were about average for the value of food.
CONS:
- Despite the patio deck being heated, it can still be chilly during the evening.
Yuk! Small portions and really terrible flavor. MahiMahi served swimming in sweet liquid..not even a sauce. Ugh..just grill it and drizzle some "sauce" for taste...don't drown my food! ps. Bloody Mary's in the bar are also very sweet...yuk! When asked what they use for a mix, I was told it was a secret! Yuk yuk...let's keep it that way! If it wasn't for the location this dive would have sunk many tides ago.
