| About: | Simplicity never looked more romantic than at this small, unassuming restaurant. White linen tables, fresh flowers and comforting earth tones create a dining setting of complete calm. The kitchen mirrors this feel by hatching a seasonally changing menu full of organic vegetables and local farm products. The smoked salmon fettuccini and the Guinea hen with tarragon sauce rate very high. All the desserts and pastries are homemade. The wine list is superb and is offered by both the glass and the bottle. |

As previously stated here, before my post was pulled (for some reason). My wife and I went here for our anniversary. It was crowded, loud and doesn't have the best entryway. We each had a bowl with one chicken leg (not even a breast) in it and a few small potatos in the sauce along with a few pieces of bread and a few overcooked vegetables. It was tasty, but a total disappointment as far as value goes. Chicken legs are one of the most inexpensive parts of a chicken. Even the couple next to us shook their heads. This is what $19.00 each got us at this place. No polenta, no rice. We ended up so hungry that we went to Jumping Monkey and ate with the homeless and got a more complete fulfilling dinner for around $10.00 a piece, soup included.
GABRIELLA'S IS THE BEST: Gabriella's cafe has an exciting and full of flavor menu. The resturant is very romantic and you can tell that the owner takes pride in it's food an atmosphere. The art shows are always fantasic featuring local artists. When you come to Santa Cruz you must eat at Gabriella's evry night. The bread is the best bread I have ever tasted. I never miss an opotunity to schedule a trip up North just to go eat at Gabriella's!
Good wine selection: Check out their wine collection next door.
