Eat and Drink ANYWHERE before going there. We spent a lot of money on dinner and drinks there (with no alcohol in my martinis) and sadly left most of our food on our plates. The Host (the guys that assigns your seats) he is the most RUDE person I had ever met. I thought people in his position should welcome their customers not bummer them out and regret going in the first place.
As for the comedians, they we're very funny and entertaining. I'm sure thats the only reason why people return to The Improv. As for me, Not sure If I could stomach going again unless they replace their rude host and improve their slow service.
Good drinks & lotsa laughs: Just saw D.L. Hughley at the Improv and had a really good time. The drinks were stiff, the food mediocre, and the comedy top notch. The experience obviously depends on who's performing but it's a good alternative to the bar scene any time.
Keep in mind that they really pack you in so be prepared to get cozy with strangers. Also, depending on your table, you may end up with your back to some people in your party when the show starts.
Pros: Cool interior, close proximity to the stage, good drinks
Cons: Cramped seating, mediocre bar food
Great venue: I really do like this place, but do not go often enough. The quality of comics is very high and the surroundings are very nice. The service isn't too great and it can take a long time to get a drink during the show
