The service severely lacks since the remodel. My friends complained about it on different occasions and were berated by management. I decided to see for my self, and boy it was bad, which really stinks because I used to like the place.
I donât want to waste too much time typing. Just read the other reviews below 3 stars and most of my complaint are covered.
Itâs too bad to see such a great place go downhill.
I will not return again, I have dined there 2 and both times service was bad. The first time the waiter would not close the door (December at 9pm), we asked the waiter to close the main door 3 times and still did not close it. The second time the waiter never helped us and we had to get the manager to get us stuff for the cheese and desert. When the waiter got the tip (of 10%) he challeged us in the middle of the resturant, that he wanted more and wanted us to explain why it was not more, like 20%.
La Fondue is much better than the melting pot in downtown San Jose. The quality, flavor, and ingredients are far superior. Normally, I don't appreciate pungent cheese but the odor of their cheese fondues is strong without being over powering. The court boullion fondue is also a winner...I prefer a slightly more subtle flavor for the main course after a cheese fondue. Their chocolate fondue is delicious as well. The decor is a bit cirque du soleil-ish, which is cute. Too bad they have such a strict dessert policy...if you want to dine for dessert only, you can only show up at 10pm Sunday to Thursday nights.
