I've been to this restaurant a few times, once very recently. I love the olde worlde ambience of the St Claire hotel. The restaurant itself is large, bright and modern. The food is really fantastic - seasonal and fresh. I had butternut squash ravioli and bruschetta - both were excellent. They also have a great dessert cart where you can see their large selection before you order.
Service is good. Prices are a little expensive but worth it.
Parking can be a little tricky, but the convention center parking lot is usually a good bet.
Great every time!: Food is always well presented, hot, and delicious. The bread is great. Deserts are wonderful. I've been to Il Fornaio in two other locations, and this one is by far the best. Service is excellent (ask to be seated in Anne's area).
Can be better: I've always like the decoration and ambience of Il Fornaio. I've been there a couple of times and this time I would say the food is rather average. The pizza has a abundance of prosicutto but the crust is not crisp. The scallopini has too much corn starch on it. What saved the day was sabayon which was nicely done. The service was earnest but can be better. I will probably go again because it's still good value.
