This was at its best a bad imitation of a cirque De soliel show, This is an adult show, and it scared the daylights out of my 4 year old child, and we had to leave the show a couple minutes after intermission. It was loud, and scary for a four year old boy. My son Trevor was kicking and screaming, we had to leave he did not want to stay, and we couldn't keep him there, he was terrified of the loud noises and flashes and smoke, he was afraid of it all. This was a horrific experience for us as a family, and I can assure you as a family we will not be experiencing the R&B circus ever again. We were sitting in the 6 row ( 20,21,22) in section 115 at HP Pavillion and paid $120 for a show that scared the hell out of our child. The original type of circus we grew up with, was what we were expecting. I have been to the R&B circus 7 times over the past 30 years and was expecting it to be relatively the same. This show was not what we were expecting. It was not original, It was a fraud by comparison to any R&B circus I have ever attended, and as stated was a bad imitation of a Cirque show. This is not and should not be advertised as a family event, especially one to include small children. I feel entirely stripped of any desire to ever attend a R&B show again in my life time. Had I known that this show was going to be like a cirque De Soliel show. I NEVER would have purchased tickets to go. This is just not a child friendly show, after viewing the website video there was nothing to indicate that there were any significant changes to the show style. I feel ripped off, by what is purported to be the greatest show on earth. You grossly failed here. If there is any way to get our admission costs refunded please do so. I would like to have someone from the circus administration contact me in regards to this matter.. I am contacting Ticketmaster (Your Ticket Reseller) and my credit card company company card also, to complain. Based on the fact that this is billed as the greatest show, and it is obviously not.
Regretfully a paying customer of yours,
After hearing Michael Bublé thank the crowd at the HP Pavilion for spending their hard earned cash on his concert, you would think he would have the decency to perform sober. But no such luck Saturday night. His rendering of most songs during the 90 minute show was un-caring and flip. Even his "lights down, heartfelt" version of "Always On My Mind" was sloppy and listless. On the other hand, his backup band was hot, tight and stellar.
Despite his messiness, it would have been nice if he included a few more of his hit songs, including Moon Dance and Quando (and a live Nelly Furtado collaboration might have excused his behavior).
Unlike the throngs of those who feel he can do no wrong, some of whom even chose to share their underwear with him, I was hoping to be swept-away by this modern day Frank Sinatra. Unfortunately, the live performance similarities ended with the underwear. While Frank and his cronies publicly extolled their partying, they were all business when they sang to a live audience.
On Saturday night, Michael misplaced his mentorâs priorities.
The Pavilion is a world class entertainment venue despite it's age. As one of the bottom 1/3 buildings in the NHL in terms of age it is surprisingly one of the oldest, it wears its age well. Brand new HD video boards and an LED light ring will be unveiled for the Sharks '07-'08 season making a great place to see a hockey game even better. My only complaint previously was about the sound system and that is being replaced as well.
The food is typical arena fare, expensive, but there are some good options including micro brews and some decent bbq.
I have been to many events in the Shark Tank, concerts, tennis tournaments, la crosse, and more. It's a great venue for all of those, but first and foremost it is a hockey building. The playoff game atmosphere is intense and the crowd is one of the loudest in the league.
