House of Siam has always had prompt and courteous service, delicious and revelatory food, and an enlightening, bewitching, and sanitary atmosphere at a fair price. I m not sure what got into the craw of the previous reviewer, but perhaps they are one of the many unpleasant and crude denizens of the Bay Area who don t understand courteous and respectful human interaction. Remember, Thailand is a predominately Buddhist country. They simply may have just seen a reflection of their own behavior. Garbage in garbage out. The poor reviewer seemed to also be suffering from hallucinations and should probably consider either adding or deleting substances from their diet depending on the condition. So, yo...put down the Burroughs, there ain t bugs crawling out of the walls! Now back to the positive review. For beginning palettes, I suggest the mild versions of the Yellow Curry Chicken (shrimp or beef), Pad Thai, or Ginger Beef. For drinks, they have a fantastic wine list and a tasty beer menu. They also have the classic Thai Ice Tea or Coffee as well as juices and sodas available. House of Siam has some of the best Thai food that I ve tried in the South Bay. They also are related to the restaurant Tee Nee Thai (temporarily closed for renovations) on the Alameda, which offers a similar menu with deeper Thai menu variations. So enjoy; think lovely thoughts; and taste the wonders of Thailand.

My family and I went to this lousy, expensive, dirty, insect infested restaurant for Mother's Day. Not knowing that this was such a filthy dirty place, we went there because of the nicely decorated Thai theme that caught our eyes. Don't let the first impression of this place fool you, this is NO place to dine at all. First of all, most of the drinks that they have in the menu were out so we have to order soda and water. The service and place alone was sooo HORRIBLE. There was spider in our drinks, cockroaches crawling out from the rice pot and food, and lints on our drinking glass. They took over 1 hour to bring us our food and when we got our food, it was cold and it was tasteless. I went to many Thai restaurants before and this was the nastiest place by far and doesn't taste authetic whatsoever. The place was not packed at all so there shouldn't be any reason why they take so long to serve us our drinks and food. The waitress there are soo mean and unprofessional. We have to say "Excuse me" many times just to get their attention. It was the most horrifying dining experience we have ever received. On top of that, they wanted to charge us a service fee in which we never received the proper service we are being charged for. In the end, I have to complain and all they did was take away the service charge away so that we won't scare away the new customers who were coming in to dine. Our Mother's Day was ruined because of them and to top it off, my sister got sick from eating their food. I will def. report this to the restaurant inspection.

The food was ok but pricey. The server was not so kind. She frowned when we were talking among ourselves upon her suggestion. They charged us "service charge" because our company was 5. Well, as usual, they did not tell us in advance. Only when they bring us the check, the woman told us that there was 5-person service charge was included. The cleanness was below expectation for the restaurant charging 17% for "service" without asking
