User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsThis was our first time to Amber India and we really enjoyed the food and stylish atmosphere. This was our boys "India" present for their mom...and we combined an outstanding Indian dinner plus the early evening showing of Slum Dog Millionaire - WHAT A GREAT COMBINATION.
I just got laid-off from a local tech company and was concerned about the pricier menu but Amber just introduced a great Pre-fixed menu for diners between 5:00pm - 7:00pm. The fixed menu is called $20 @ 5 and is a flavorful four course menu. The first course is a "Lemongrass Rasam Shot" which is a spicy and bold start to the dinner. The next course is a choice of either a Samosa or a Murg Tinka Kebab. We tried both and the Kebab was cooked to perfection, while the Samosa was a bit over cooked. For the Entree, you have a choice of either a Chicken Lemongrass Kebab & Rogan Josh (chicken & Lamb) or a Trandoori Gobi & Kadhai Pancer (vegetarian dish). Again our party tried both and we were not disappointed. My two favorites were the Rogan Josh, which is a lamb stew which was tender and moist, and the Trandoori Gobi, which had a complex mixing of India flavors. For dessert they offer a choice of three items: a Dark & White Chocolate Kulfi, a Double Ka Meeta or a Rosewater & Cardamom Shirkand. The Rosewater & Cardamom Shirkand was the winner, with a beautiful blend of exotic taste and textures.
Overall a great dinning experience. The dinner crowd doesn't start till 6:30-7:00pm so if you like to beat the crowds and get a full course meal, at one of San Jose's best Indian restaurants, for just $20 - take advantage of this deal. This special just started Tuesday (1/13) and I don't know how long it will last...so you might want to call ahead.

The best indian restaurant in the Sillicon Valley....they have traditional and fusion dishes....and the weekend buffett is also very good.
Service is excellent...their party room is just right for a party of 50 people. Our numerous experiences there have been great! -

One of my fav north indian restaurants..Loved the bhindi masala...paneer masala was kinda sweet but will do.
can go there again and again.
