Antica has great thin crust pizza! I've tried four flavors so far and they are all excellent - potatoes and truffle oil (i love truffle oil!), pears and cream cheese (really, it's good! i thought it would be weird but it's super yummy...the cream cheese lends a slight sweetness to the taste), mozzarella with basil (a classic! how could you go wrong?), and spicy sausage, mushroom and onion (yummy but a little on the salty side...my least favorite, but still good).
Besides Dominos pizza, this is the worst pie I have ever had. I see from a previous review that it tasted like a savory cracker, who thinks crackers are savory? When I tried to fold a slice of pie, it crumbled like a cracker. The crust is a dry cracker and a large weighs less than a pound. If you are in Lafayette and you want good pizza, go to Postino.
I've often enjoyed dinner at Pizza Antica in the past. It has a good and lively atmosphere, and normally friendly waiters and hostesses. However, the quality of food has gone down hill in the past year. Dishes that I used to enjoy in the past seem to lack quality of ingredients and preparation. I used to enjoy the caesar salad, but recently, the lettuce has been wilted or unfresh on several occations. The pizza and pasta used to fill my mouth with flavor. Again, these days, several of the dishes seem extraordinarily bland. It just seems like this location has lost a lot of what it used to have over the past year. I used to visit this restaurant very frequently. I've stopped going now, opting for other restaurants in Santana Row that have maintained their quality.
