Fantastic food. Servers and bartenders awesome. Bar stool are starting to show ware (holes) womens bathroom door lock was broken. I hope the owners invest in the repairs that need be before it starts looking run down.
Mu hysband & I tried to eat here once before, but it was too crowded. However, there was a Sharks game that day, so we decided to come back another time.
This time there was plenty of seating for our group of 4.
Walking in, the modern ambiance was very impressive.
The service was a little slow, but we weren't in a rush.
The bread was offered to us from a platter, where the server sets your selection on your bread plate. Nice touch, but the bread server never returned after our bread plates were empty.
The appetizer/salads were rather small for costing $9 - $12.
I do recommend trying the Spatzle appetizer.
Just don't expect that you will be able to share it since it is portioned for only one person.
The dinners portions were filling enough and tasted fine.
The entrees were creative and plated well.
I was not dissatisfied, but nothing made me go "wow!" either.
The best part was the dessert, orange & lavender creme brulee.
Now that made me say "Wow!"
Our major problem:
Earlier on, a bug had managed to find its way into a wine glass and we asked to have it taken away. The waitress brought back a new glass
and stated that it was no charge.
Later when receiving the bill, the wine has still on the bill. The waitress
said that they had were not charging us for the first glass of wine (that
had the bug in it!) but the second glass.
Once we explained that we never asked for the 2nd glass, but that she
had brought it stating that it was of no charge, she had the 2nd glass
removed from the bill.
The cost of the food versus the portion size & the slow service were
tolerable, until that point.
When you pay that much for a meal, you expect to not get charged for
a glass of wine you never asked for.
I would have given this a 3 1/2-star rating otherwise & rounded it up to 4
(since there are no 1/2's on this rating system)
