    I visited Merced Gottschalks looking for some small guitar parts. They didn't have them because they didn't carry that particular brand. Gottschalks referred me to a competitor music store where I found the item. Gottschalks seemed to generally have a pretty good floor stock and they certainly had a large dose of character to refer me to another store.

    I have been going to Gottschalk Music Center for my musical needs since about 1996, or so. They have always been helpful, knowledgeable, and have always had great prices. All of the band directors I've ever had have recommended Gottschalk Music, because they know what they are talking about. They have a great selection and great prices. I'd recommend them to any musician I know. They are the most knowledgeable music store in Merced, and the surrounding area, and have the most helpful staff.

    I was very unimpressed with Gottschalks. I had to ask them in order to get any help and they made it seem like I was an inconvenience to them. I would not recommend anyone to go to them!
