This is a little treasure in Downtown Merced. Their breakfasts are the BEST! And if you like a good old fashioned lunch (meatloaf; stew or just a great hamburger), this is the place for you. Eat inside at a table or the counter; eat outside at a sidewalk table, the choice is yours. But either way the food is terrific. The cooks know how to use the grill, that's for sure. The waiting staff is friendly and efficient. So, if you want a good meal at a wonderful cafe, try the Cinema. P.S.

Mainzer Movie House Coffee Shop: Hey I am back in town and I am pleased that this establishment is still around. Beloved by young and old, my daughter frequents the place when she is around from school with the 18 to twenty something crowd and I have been known to hang out representing the, uh-hum 30 something crowd, but even my Mom might consider the place a haunte as well. The building has potential for so much with the UC fast approaching and the need for live bands, avante garde films, eats and the cool spot to chill is going to reach a fever pitch someday perhaps (if all the cool spots don't go belly up before then and get taken over by corporate strip mall America). So, support the local economy and sip your favorite caffeine elixer from in front of the old gal and perhaps you can pretend you're some 1920's star, or even ne'er-do-well! Cheers Brad~
