About:The Branding Iron Restaurant celebrates California's ranching history with its decor and gets its name from the approximately 200 cattle brands that are displayed throughout the dining area. Owned by Kara and Greg Parle, the Branding Iron first opened its doors in 1952 and its 50-year-old neon sign of a cowboy branding a calf has been designated a historical landmark by the city of Merced.     Best steak house in town, with prime rib, sea food, pastas, salads, soups. You get a lot of food for the price, the best desserts, atmosphere can be casual for families or romantic in a corner or by the fireplace, 2 banquet rooms, comfortable friendly bar, extremely friendly service, family owned.

    Fantastic! the best steaks in town! Great service and environment. There's a reason why this restaurant had been in business for decades.

    Over priced, and the service is a bit on the slow side. Other than that we had a nice night.
