I recently took my '06 Yamaha VStar 1100 in to have some work done to it to enhance its performance (i.e. jet/synch carbs, install oil filter relocation kit, install MaxAir POD kit), at the recommendation of a couple biker buddies.

The service at Family Cycle Center was EXCELLENT. Al & Phil both took the time to listen to exactly what I wanted done, and to answer any and ALL questions I had.

Prior to going here, I tried getting the work done at Merced Powersports but they refused to do the work because "I didn't buy the parts from them".

Plus, their labor rates are $90/hr....compared to $50/hr. there at Family Cycle Center. However, I spoke w/ Al and he assured me they could complete the job w/o any reservations.

The quality of work performed was EXCELLENT!! I dropped the bike off on a Thurs, and Phil kept in contact w/ me while completing the work, ensuring that it was being completed to my specifications. He wasn't even offended or insulted when I brought along some technical supporting information from the internet related to the parts I was wanting configured and installed.

As a prospective member of a local riding group, I will HIGHLY recommend their establishment for any and all work on our member's bikes at our next chapter's meeting.

Keep up the good work Al & Phil! It's no surprise you've been in business for almost 40 years!! And don't ever expand or move away...I like your shop just the way it is!!

Oh yeah, one final plug. Phil is a machinist by trade so, unlike the shop in Merced, all work there is done "in-house", and not subbed out to a 3rd party with the extra costs being passed onto the customer.

Great job guys, you've now got a customer for life!
