Terrible selection, bad prices. The people working there are not smart nor honest. My house got robbed, so I contacted all of the local music stores about my instruments that were stolen. A week later, I got a call from Hendricksons saying that they have my bass, but they want me to give them $100 for it, since that what they spent on it. I immediately called the police, who went in and recovered my bass (which was out on display, by the way) and told them they were s.o.l. as far as the money went. They knew what their responsibility was when it comes to stolen property, and it took threats from the police for them to finally follow through on it. If karma does exist, this place will go out of business.
When my father was in a band in the 1970's, he went to Hendrickson's for all of his music needs. It's the only place I go. The employees are so friendly and helpful. I purchased a guitar here back in 2003 and two years later they remembered me and the exact guitar I had purchased they even recognized my voice over the phone. I had only been there three or four times. I recommend Hendrickson's to everyone who loves music.
Buyer beware! A lot of mom and pop music stores are like used car salesmen. If you haven't done your homework as far as prices go you may be exploited. Buying a high end guitar is an expensive investment, one that can seem like money badly spent if you settle for something less than what you really wanted. Do your homework and play different models at different prices and compare. Don't fall for the old "These guitars can hold their own against (insert high end guitar band name)", its just not true. A lot of low and midrange guitar models are made in places like Korea and China where they pay little to no attention to detail or tonal quality. If you can't afford a high end model (believe me at 2-3 thousand dollars not many people can) by all means get yourself a decent midrange guitar, but do your homework and figure out what the street price of a guitar is. Some places always place the MSRP as the cost of the guitar and try to make you believe that you got a deal when they knock off some of the cost off the top, DON'T FALL FOR IT! MSRP is not an accurate cost of the guitar, again do your homework and figure what the street price is, use the internet. If you cannot find a street price for a certain guitar I would think twice before making a purchase.
