Auberge Mendocino

Quaint B & B: We enjoyed a recent weekend stay at Auberge Mendocino. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We stayed in the main house in the downstairs suite next to the dining area. The room had a living room and bedroom. Though it mentioned that there was an ocean view from the living room of the suite, it was quite distant. The fireplace in the suite was a little small, and we had problems with smoke from the wood burning that it set off the smoke alarm a couple of times. While we had the smoke under control as the alarm was going off, it was just a little disconcerting that no one (guests or staff) had come around to check the room. The alarm was quite piercingly loud for others to hear too. Aside from that, the breakfast every morning was wonderful, as were the freshly baked cookies that the Inn puts in your suite and in the living area. There's also their very friendy dog that is at the Inn. It was a nice treat to see a dog in the house. Overall, we liked our stay at the Inn, and we'd definitely go back.
