    My wife and I have eaten at the Boar's Breath many times and have never been disappointed by the quality of the food. I usually have the steak which is flavorful and tender. My wife always enjoys the fish, and their garlic-mashed potatos are delectable!

    We believe this is one of the top Lake County restaurants and equal to what you can find in Calistoga. When they are VERY busy the service can be a bit slow but they are ALWAYS friendly and we have never felt rushed. Their desserts are wonderful and we highly recommend the bread pudding drizzled with carmel sauce or the piping hot chocolate brownie a la mode!

    We have eaten in some of the finest restaurants and highly recommend the locally owned and run 'Boar's Breath'.

    Not really sure what the the hoopla is all about, ate at this restaurant twice-was not particularly happy the first time around. Took girlfriend there because we've heard such good reviews from friends, my steak was okay, but I couldn't see how they could charge so much for something that wasn't that good. Girlfriend had salmon i think, overcooked. I guess they kindda hope that you order tons of wine/liquor to make you forget how lack luster the food was. Second time, dropped by with some friends for the "pig pen" menu, again over priced and incredibly forgettable. The finest restaurant in Middletown? If this restaurant is the basis, thats not saying much. Go ahead and drive a little bit more and find better restaurants in Calistoga.
