User Rating: 1 out of 5 starsDepressed and in dire need of pampering- not to mention a haircut style and color, I walked into Girlfriends and thought YES! It looked like a great place to get a new look and a new frame of mind. I discussed my needs with a color specialist and stylist and let her in on the fact that I was depressed and needed a make over and pampering to cheer me up and returned a couple hours later at appointed time. Except for the few absolutely necessary words that I pulled from the person who was doing my hair I felt like a slab of meat being whittled on piece by piece... NO, tha'ts not that's not correct. I've seen butchers at work and they are passionate about what they do.. This person had about as much interest in my make over as a busboy clearing a table. No wait- I think they are more passionate at their job. It wasn't this person didn't like to talk... she just didn't want to talk to me. She chatted with everyone else in site while totally ignoring me and the style that she was supposed to be cutting my hair into. Twice she stopped cutting and handled me a mirror. Both times I asked what I was supposed to be look at.. the 2nd time I asked if she even knew what an A Line Bob was!! Finally I just said I need to go- and asked how much for the cut... and paid and left never to return or recommend!! If I had to sit there through a color being ignored and treated subhuman I'd be in tears! The only time she tried to talk is when it was apparent that she was losing the job and $$ for the haircolor. But too late! I was out of there!

The people below must have walked through a cloud of smoke and gotten high before they entered that shop. The lady who owns it has gone through every hairdresser in the county, and treats them all like crap and makes them pay the highest rent in the county. Glad to hear that one chick is leaving.. she has been the only one dumb enough to put up with the crazy. What a Fake Bunch. So.. If you want High Prices & High Drama and Low Quality, then it might be the place for you. Ask anyone in this town about the owner...Its worth the Gas Money to head to Lakeport to Scarlet O'Hara's. Dont waste your money in Clearlake's Shops.

Girlfriends in my opinion is the Greatest Beauty Salon of Lake County. When you walk in the Atmosphere makes you feel like your in a High Tech Salon and the people are friendly. Theresa H. is my favorite Hair Stylist!. If I pick a totally different hair style from a magazine than what my hair looks like now, she takes a quick glance at it and cuts it exactly the way the picture shows. No flaws with Theresa. She is an Artist in more than one way! She's the Greatest! and I'm gonna miss her!
The owner Jeri shows pride and caring interest to her staff as well as customers. Like I said, Girlfriends is the Greatest!
